Getting ready for your wedding the day of your wedding os an exciting time! So many moving parts come together that morning to create your dream wedding, you have been planning for months. These are some tips for bridal prep the morning of your wedding.
When scheduling hair and makeup for you and your bridal party decide with your groom if you will be having a first look before the wedding. Whether or not you decide to have a first look is entirely up to you as a couple, but really sets the timeline for the day. I’ve wrote a post already for you to ready over explaining pros and cons to each option.
Once you have decided on if you will have a first look, speak with your photographer to find out how much time and when you will be taking bridal party photos, family photos, and bride and groom photos.
I always suggest that the bride is never the last person in line to get her hair and makeup done. Hair and makeup will almost always run late, and you don’t want your stylist to rush on your look. We can always do a first look with out a bridesmaid, but never without the bride. 🙂
When I get to where the bride and bridesmaids are getting ready I will usually ask for all of your dresses, jewelry, shoes, flowers, and invitations. While the bridal party is getting there last touchups I will take all of these details to photograph them to set the tone to your wedding day.
After everyone is all dolled up, I will ask that bridesmaids and mother of the bride get dressed in their dresses, and put away any bags, clothing, and clutter before the bride gets dressed.
As a photographer I am prepared to photograph in whatever room you choose to get ready in. However if you want to be a photographers dream client, and help to curate an amazing photo gallery for yourself, choose a room with large windows. I usually suggest the master bedroom of the house. If you have the option to let your bridesmaids get dressing in another room to help keep down on the clutter in the room the bride is getting ready in do it! I always look for mirrors to catch reflections of those around the bride looking at her!
Once the bride is in her dress, I will ask the mother of the bride and maid of honor help the bride get her jewelry and shoes on.
