What the heck is a welcome sequence and why do I need one? So ya know what social media marketing is, and you’re pretty sure you know what email marketing is, but where does a welcome sequence fit into all of this? Glad you asked. Here is a secret I didn’t know what it was either for way too long than I care to admit. ​

So email marketing is basically sidestepping all the algorithm craziness and emailing your audience directly. A welcome sequence is 2-3 emails they get from you after they sign up to hear from you! In short its a quick way for you to introduce yourself, and let them really decide if what you are offering is something they actually want to hear about.

What to actually put in the emails

Email Number One – Deliver the Goods!

In this email, you want to simply give them what they asked for in exchange for their email address. This is where you would deliver the Opt-in you promised! Keep this email short and sweet, let them know if there are any special directions to using your opt-in, and let them know you will be reaching out to them again in the next few days.

Email Number Two- Introduce yourself

It’s only good manners that you introduce yourself to someone you just met, and that’s exactly what this email is all about! Tell them who you are, what you do, why you do it. You can link to blog posts where you have shared your story, or talked about your business. Another great thing to add in this email is where they can connect with you on social media! For me, that’s Instagram straight up!

Email Number Three- Let them know what they are in for!

This is the last email in this sequence let them know what’s next, how often are you going to be emailing them, what will you be sharing with them? Wedding planning tips? landscaping hacks? Sales and promotions? Give them a heads up, this might not be the best topics for them and ya know what that’s totally fine!
